9 Free Hours of Postpartum Doula Care

As a postpartum doula on the Lower and Outer Cape, I feel fortunate to be able to refer parents into the grant funded doula program, sponsored by the Perinatal Wellness Alliance. This grant provides Cape families (raising a baby 12 months or younger) with three 3-hour postpartum doula visits.

This affords more families the ability to benefit from nurturing, information and care during the often tiring and overwhelming early weeks and months with a baby. Some families feel the 9 hours are enough, and some families hire on for more visits. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please visit the links below.

I have worked with numerous families on the Lower and Outer Cape as a postpartum doula and lactation counselor. I also hear so many people say, “I wish I had a doula when my baby was young!”

If you know someone who is pregnant or with a baby, please encourage them to use this free support in order to rest, ask questions and feel more at ease during the transition to parenthood. Let’s continue to remind and encourage families that it is ok and important to accept support!
